Patrick Lauzon Named Executive Vice President of Canoe
Montréal, May 29, 2006 - Bruno Leclaire, President and Chief Executive Officer of Canoe and Vice President, Interactive Media Division, of Quebecor Media, announces the appointment of Patrick Lauzon to the position of Executive Vice President of Canoe.
Patrick Lauzon will steer Canoe's national growth and development strategy and oversee all business units, including the Canoe.qc.ca and Canoe.ca portals, the commercial sites Jobboom, Micasa.ca, Autonet.ca, ClassifiedExtra/ ClasséesExtra, Flirt.ca/Réseau Contact, and several new products currently under development.
Patrick has more than 13 years of experience in executive positions in sales, marketing and strategic relations with leading media and Internet companies. Among other things, he was responsible for media sales and business development at Sympatico/MSN and occupied a number of key positions at Bell Canada and its subsidiaries. Patrick is also Chairman of IAB Canada (Interactive Advertising Bureau) and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2000.

Restructuring of Canoe
Canoe's sustained growth, particularly since the beginning of 2006, has generated a substantial increase in workload for its people. More than 50 new employees have joined the Company in the past few months and there are currently a number of openings to be filled. The growth is prompting Canoe to review its corporate structure.
Therefore, in addition to the Executive Vice President position, a new Vice President, Operations position has been created. Marcel Sanscartier has agreed to take up the challenge. Marcel has more than 5 years of experience with Canoe and more than 20 years in the media industry. Marcel will apply his talents and leadership skills by heading Canoe's Technology, Research & Development and Creative Department groups.
